TY and being a tourist in your own city!

Howdy!

first of all:

. . . for all of the lovely comments regarding FCI!
I am thrilled beyond belief.
I cannot wait to post about all I learn and get to experience.

Onto things that happened this week . . .

. . . sweet Claire came to NYC to visit her friends over Spring Break.
We had a great time and covered lots of ground.
That is for sure!

You can check out our adventures below!

could it really be some good news!?

In less than 2 month's time, we will be heading to . . .

. . . the Bay Area to be exact, to visit with husband's family.
It's been years and we are so excited to head out West.
We have a new niece and future sister in law to meet.
Plus I cannot wait to see my in-laws, play with the girls and get some relaxation in.

And the bigger news is that two weeks before we head out on our little getaway, I will be reading through this book . . .

. . . because I will be starting classes at the

FRENCH CULINARY INSTITUTE
(here in NYC).

Yup!
May 13th is my first day night, really.
I will continue working 9-5 and M/W/F -- I will be in class from 5.30-10.30!
Pastry Arts Degree, folks!
I am doing this!

Someone pinch me.

checking in!

Hello gang.

I don't have the time to post a lot but having visitors here has been great.

Seeing NYC through others' eyes is something I always enjoy.

However, life is back in full swing and I have lots of "adult things" to handle.

In the meantime, I leave you with this from a trip to Dylan's Candy Store:

***

Real quick, I want to take a minute to thank each and every one of you that purchased the "sunny side up" print from Little Law's Prints.

It means the world to us that Daddy's saying is being spread around.
The money that is being raised is going straight into our adoption advertising fund.

Much love to all and especially Kristen!!

3.24.2011

just call me Ms. Petrillo, please.

Howdy!

Becky is here (safe and sound, just a LITTLE beat-up from sleet storm) and
we did not waste any time hitting the town for pizza and cupcakes.
However, that photo documentation will come in a later post with other photos of our adventures.

When looking at this photo (and no I was not being vain),
the first thing I noticed  about it was my hat looks like it could be doubling as
Sophia's* hair from the Golden Girls.

{Sophie, RIP with my Daddy!}

Thank you for being a FRIEND, dadda da da da daaaaaaa!

Listen, I get it.
Most people are like, "a blogger posing as a fashion blogger".

Trust me, I am not trying to take away from what fashion bloggers do best, but I have had to censor my posts a bit and well, you shall see my style once a week.

Is that okay?
De-Follow, if you must.

nyc outings.

Yup, you read that right!
Trishy of Pink Preppy Lilly Lover was in town on business so MCW and I met up with her for dinner at Pipa.

Pipa is so good! I <3 Tapas!
It was my second time being there and everything was so tasty.
More of that calamari, please.

BTW, I have the sweetest, funniest and prettiest friends.

What is your favorite type of food???

Speaking of friends -- Becky arrives TODAY. And poor thing, her and her husband are delayed 40 mins with an extra stop in Pittsburgh!
Man oh Man.

1.

PAPA PT UPDATE:

Best news ever! The trach tube is out and he is breathing well and

eating real food.  They have stopped the stomach feeding.  He will

most likely be transferred to an inpatient rehab facility this week.
Thank you, Heavens!

little adornments

Howdy.

No, we are not expecting a baby born to us from my womb or in our hearts.
(at least not at this very minute).

Yes, we are starting to think about making our second room into a nursery.
(We spoke about this awhile ago but things came up).
We never know when we might get a call from a birth parent picking us as adoptive parents.
So, why not be prepared?!

Just a few of our ideas are below:

1. Light Switch Sets by Henrietta Swift via Brighton POD
3. Faux Woodgrain Fabric -- Joel Dewberry
4. After the Rain room -- oh dee doh
5. Cloud and Rainbow Drops Mobile -- The Butter Flying
6. Eclectic Vintage Nursery -- oh dee doh
7. Alma Mini Crib -- Giggle
8. Tomato Dots Crib Sheet (to go with below bedding) -- Made with Love, Aunt Bucky
9. Organic 'George' Crib Set -- Giggle

PS:  We also have our names picked out.
Yup, we are in agreement.
Come on little babies!

Have a great day, y'all.

weekend recap, yo.

happy monday.
husband and i had a very nice weekend.
we met in the east village, had a little vegan ice cream from Stogo.
it was crazy spicy.
FYI:(we are not vegans)

we then walked over to cafe habana to share a cuban sando, after waving to MCW from the street while she was in her window getting ready for a night out.

to help our food settle and walk off the calories, we strolled home through Chinatown laughing and goofing.
